Supported by the Arts Capacity Development Funding Scheme and presented by Passoverdance, “Fleeting Moments – Stories of Cities and Bodies” is an 18-month, three-phase journey across geographies, media, and generations.

 

In the first phase, senior Norwegian choreographer Sølvi Edvardsen and local choreographers Cyrus Hui, Elaine Kwok and Chloe Wong seek to subvert established perceptions of the dancing body and age. The second phase features Gabbie Chan weaving love stories from Norway, Japan, Greece, the Netherlands, and the Greater Bay Area. In the final phase, Pewan Chow takes on a new role, tailoring new work for three of her former students (the three local choreographers from the first phase) to showcase the fluid transformation of artistic inheritance and teacher-student relationships. Simultaneously, through expressive arts workshops, Gabbie Chan condenses the life imprints of the elderly into stage poetry.

Through professional productions, masterclasses, workshops, and community engagement, this project fosters profound artistic connections. Through international collaboration and cross-generational dialogue, the project not only expands creative horizons but also strengthens the team's project management foundation. From exploring traces of time and engaging with diverse cultures to transforming the bonds between teacher and student, this project breaks through aesthetic barriers with breakthrough creative thinking, opening up more inclusive and forward-looking new horizons for the development of contemporary dance in Hong Kong.
